Micro Brewery
A brand new company looking to produce beer with natural spring water got in touch with ACC Flooring and requested we help them manage their flooring installation project.
The unit which had seen many uses in the past with an old concrete substrate had been left as a bare shell. The nature of this start up business meant that budgets were tight; however, specification recommendation was crucial to provide the client with the ideal products to make the flooring successful and aesthetically pleasing for customers and visitors.
To prevent cross contamination, we supplied and installed a stainless steel drainage system to the already existing concrete floors which would allow the heavy duty polymer modified cementitious screed to be laid to falls which would help guide water flow into the drainage system preventing any standing water and potential hygiene and bacteria issues. Slip resistant, heavy duty polyurethane screed Altro Crete at a thickness of 6mm was them installed to provide a fit for purpose finish. Block walls were then built by our team as part of the process rooms that were housed in bund areas. These walls were protected with a polyurethane render, Altro Crete PU, used to protect from brewing sugars to create a hygienic environment.
For the offices, we installed a decorative flake system and, for the vehicle loading areas, a high build epoxy coating.
Due to removing a lot of old flooring this project produced a lot of waste. However, fortunately, thanks to ACC Flooring’s recycling initiative, 98% of the waste product was recycled.
The installation was completed to the client satisfaction and within budget.
Installed February 2018 – FeRFA Type 8
