A new client approached ACC Flooring, asking for several works to be performed within their factory. The factory is used to manufacture and sell plastic closures for the food and drink sector.

Initially we were asked to re-instate the walkways in the factory. We removed any laitance with vacuum controlled hand-held diamond grinders, followed by the application of Altro Tect, a medium duty, high build epoxy coating in Green. To finish, walking men demarcation were applied to the coating after curing for additional safety features. Altro Line in Safety Yellow, a high gloss epoxy line marking/demarcation system was installed to both sides of the newly created walkway. Altro Tect in Safety Red was installed to identify fire extinguishers stations. Additional floor stickers and logos were then fitted to provide the workforce and visitors with further clear demarcation to provide a safe environment.

Additional floor repairs were cleaned out by others and allowed to dry prior to the application of a high build epoxy coating in Charcoal.

Additional floor repairs were carried out by preparing the substrate with diamond grinders before the application of a heavy duty polyurethane screed in Dark Grey @ 6mm thickness.

The high build epoxy coating used in this case study is a FeFRA type 3 classification, with an impressive 7-year life expectancy and is ideal for medium duty areas. Whilst the FeRFA Type 8 heavy duty polyurethane screed has a life expectancy of 15 years and offers excellent impact and chemical resistance in addition to a slip resistant of ≥50 ptv.

When complete, the client was impressed with the finished work and since this occasion we have been invited to return to carry out remedial work to other parts of the factory.
